We have been closely watching the events which have precipitated following the death of George Floyd. Feelings of sorrow for our African-American brothers & sisters, combined with hope for a better future, have driven us to speak out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The truth is that George Floyd's death is just the tip of an iceberg to a deeper, systematically ingrained problem in official institutions of the United States, including law enforcement institutions. Race is a common theme in the deaths of not only George Floyd, but also Ahmaud Arbery, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and dozens of others. These deaths are manifestations of this deep-rooted problem which can only be extirpated with education.
